So this news has been around for a while now, that a Nigeria consortium is looking to buy struggling English premiership club Newcastle Utd. Boss of NVA Management, Chris Nathaniel who is orchestrating the deal, told kickoffnigeria.com that "Four prominent entrepreneurs are involved in this deal for now but
they don't want their identities to be revealed for now. They have
contributed £350million so far for the project."
Chris Nathaniel also added "But we are
still beckoning to other well to do Nigerians to join this lofty and
result oriented venture so that we can beat the deadline before another
person or persons get the advantage over us (Nigeria) in this race to
buy the club. We are targeting another £100million to £150million to
make a strong offer of £450million to £500million to seal this deal
once and for all."
So who are these businessmen likely to be....
Femi Otedola - Billionaire owner of Zenon Oil
Mike Adenuga - Billionaire telecoms Mogul (Maybe we will see "glo" on the club jersey instead of Newscastle brown ale...wouldn't that be something)
Aliko Dangote - Richest Black African - according to Forbes
Obi Asika - Owner Storm Records,Music and Entertainment Mogul....?
